  • A peg winder is a really handy tool to own. It's not as if you'll be using it all the time but when you change or break your strings a peg winder will save a lot of time. Great for guitars, ukuleles etc. It's such a cheap item just get one!
  • This tuner is pretty robust and easy to use. It has the added bonus of being able to tune chromatically or for specific instruments – I use guitar, bass and ukulele (C and D) but it also does violin. I changed the battery in mine after about 6 months – typically these type of gadgets benefit from having a quality battery.
  • It usually quite confusing buying new strings so here's my recommended strings for SOPRANO size ukuleles. These strings are made using Aquila Nylgut which is denser than nylon and sound great. Give yourself the best possible chance to make your ukulele sound sweet.
  • ukulele strap strap folk sling style
Not everyone's choice as this type of strap goes around your neck in a loop and wraps under the ukulele and hooks into the uke sound hole. It doesn’t require a strap button or cause stress on the neck and removable when you're not playing. No drilling required!
  • It usually quite confusing buying new strings so here’s my recommended strings for CONCERT size ukuleles. These strings are made using Aquila Nylgut which is denser than nylon and sound great. Give yourself the best possible chance to make your ukulele sound sweet.
  •   4 string Ukulele, Mandolin and Bass Rubber Stamp is a great time saver for players, teachers, students and composers alike! All you do is stamp an empty chord template on your song sheet, score or notebook and fill in the fingerings with a pen or pencil. Easy!
  • It usually quite confusing buying new strings so here’s my recommended strings for TENOR size ukuleles. These strings are made using Aquila Nylgut which is denser than nylon and sound great. Give yourself the best possible chance to make your ukulele sound sweet.
  • ukulele shoulder strap bestsounds
If multicoloured straps aren't your thing then these ones are quite nice. I always go for the ones with a supplied button strap otherwise you'll be spending more than you need too. Leather and linen works well on a strap too – at these prices there is no need to get faux leather. Ties at to the head which is my preference rather than two strap buttons on the body.
  • A useful accessory for your music stand. Easily hang your ukulele up while you are sorting out you music or taking a break. A simple idea which takes the hassle out of trying to find a place to lean your ukulele up.
  • I recommend using a strap to keep your ukulele in position whilst you are playing. I don't use a strap myself but learning and not having one is difficult and may hinder your technique. I recommend this ukulele strap if you like natural materials and it includes a strap button which you'd have to purchase separately otherwise.
  • Snark Supertight HZ tuner Snark Supertight HZ tuner
A very nice tuner and useful metronome. I'd seen these tuners were good quality since a lot of our ukulele players had them. I've got one for Christmas and I'm very happy with it. The quality is good and the tuning accurate. The metronome is a useful addition but not an essential feature.
  • An tablet music stand is an essential item if you want to use an iPad, Galaxy tablet or similar. It give a good stable place to present your iPad to read music. Another good accessory to add to this if you are using it with a ukulele would be the ukulele clamp hanger.
