Get your party started!
I was asked if I could play any Chas & Dave songs for a 50th birthday party for a keen fan and a Spurs fan. After a brief discussion with my musician friend Chris Bampton (U-Turn) we took up the challenge!
Our set list included Chas & Dave favourites Rabbit, Gertcha! and Ossie’s Dream (Spurs are on their way to Wembley!) alongside other party songs.
We played as a duo with myself on guitar and Chris on vocals/guitar. The gig was interactive as we had spare microphones so the hosts could join in with the vocals and we had bongos, maracas and other percussion instruments for the audience’s pleasure.
Everyone had a fun night and we certainly broke the ice!
Ironically Chas Hodges passed away on the very day we did the gig which was quite a coincidence.
