Popular songs from a ukulele band

Visit our HUBB Hub Club Page for current activities

Established in January 2018, Horsmonden Ukulele Big Band (HUBB) are a twenty plus strong ukulele band playing and singing popular songs for fun.

We have performed at the Horsmonden Summer Festival, Pittlands Fun Day, Horsmonden Autumn Festival, 100th Anniversary of WWI Armistice and the Horsmonden Winter Festival. We have also busked outside the Heath Stores raising money for the Hospice in the Weald and Comic Relief.

We have enjoyed putting specialist programmes together for Harvest, Wartime, Hopping, Christmas and Musicals – we are keen to develop more if you want something specific.

Meetings

We meet every Saturday morning and have two venues for sessions which I lead: Horsmonden Social Club sessions 10am-12 noon where we learn ukulele skills, apply them to our songs and play together. We have everything we need for interactive learning – projector, large screen and lots of space. The Gun sessions are 11.15am where we revisit recent lessons and try out new songs and work on current ones.

Who can join

Anyone who can hold a ukulele and sing! We cater for all abilities and ages at both sessions from beginners to competent ukulele players.

Need help to get started?

For absolute beginners or those who feel it would be a benefit, we offer a beginners academy with small group lessons. These will teach you the basic skills you need to confidently join us at our sessions when you are ready. I hold these generally on a lunchtime during the week.

Come and join us, learn ukulele, perform and meet new people!
